Tuesday
Lesson day! I looked at the lesson
schedule this morning and saw that while Melanie, Matt, and I all had the first
lessons of the day, Eloise, Chris, and Alex had lessons during lunch which was
kind of a bummer for them and I suppose the coaches, too! That's so
unfortunate that they can't eat until 2:00. Ouch. My stomach is
complaining just thinking about it. Anyway, we left to get Chris and in
the car Chris got a call from some unknown number and he was like, "Why do I
always get calls from people I don't know? Should I answer it?" We
decided that it was better to just answer and find out who it was. Turns
out it was Melanie! She had not been feeling well and wanted to switch
lesson times with Chris (who, by the way, was overjoyed that he didn't have a
lesson during lunch) so that she could arrive a bit later (so I guess it ended
up being a win-win).
I had my lesson with Lynn and the first thing she
says to me is, "Why do I always have a lesson with you first?" Thanks,
Lynn...want me to leave? Hahaha, just kidding. She went on to say,
"Do you enjoy having the first lessons?" and I actually don't mind
them. It's pretty useful because then you have like three more hours to go
over the things you went over in your lesson which is fantastic. After my
lesson, I got Asya's score and white out from Asya and put in all the bowings
and fixed my fingerings (and put in the ones Lynn had just given me).
After that, I helped Matt fix his music and figure out his page turns.
After lunch, we worked on the first and fifth movements. Tomorrow we're
going to do a run-through of the entire piece. YIKES
